110th Anniversary

110 years ago Vauxhall launched its first car. The 1903 model cost £136 for a two-seater and was powered by a single cylinder 5HP engine. It featured two forward gears, no reverse and a tiller steering arm - the tiller perhaps an influence of 46 years prior experience building marine engines. Fortunately both steering wheels and reverse gears were introduced in 1904 and Vauxhall has never looked back! Well except to check the blind spot.

110 years on and Vauxhall is launching Adam and Cascada. These great new products follow Ampera, Zafira Tourer and Mokka. The future has never been brighter for UK's oldest existing car manufacturer.

Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair

Celebrating 10 years of fun and frivolity, the UK’s hottest annual art fair, the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is gearing up to be another un-missable event, featuring over 70 renowned artists including Sir Peter Blake, Gavin Turk, Emin International, Polly Morgan, Mat Collishaw, Bob & Roberta Smith, Pam Hogg, Pure Evil, Marcus Harvey, Billy Childish, pitching up to personally sell their original and limited edition works of art at authentically bargain prices.

The Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is famous for being the day the art world lets its hair down, coming together to fill the car park with English eccentricity, quirky ideas, incredible bargains, cool art, eclectic wares and mad performances.

Pop stars mingle with fashion designers and actresses rub shoulders with Royalty as they all check out the art, hang out at the bar and muck in with all the entertainment, of which there is plenty. It’s an art-buying frenzy from the moment the doors open to the thousand plus queue, some of which has camped overnight, for the chance to grab the special just-for-the-day artworks. There’s something for every pocket with works typically on sale for between £10 to £1,000.

Helping our heroes - £200,000 target reached

Vauxhall's employees recently visited Tedworth House, the flagship rehabilitation centre for Help for Heroes in Tidworth, Wiltshire. This centre supports wounded, sick, injured and returning soldiers who have fought in some of the most dangerous battlefields in the world. With Vauxhall's fundraising total now at £217,258, we also continue to support Help for Heroes with vehicles. Three brand new Vauxhall Astra's were provided at the visit and these will be used for fundraising and offering rehabilitation opportunities for injured soldiers.

Bryn Parry CBE and co-founder of Help for Heroes thanked Vauxhall for all their hard efforts saying "the vehicles you are providing are vital to our operation. Without the donations of companies like yours, what you see here at Tedworth wouldn't be possible."

Summer is just a state of mind

The Cascada is a full four-seat, fabric-roof convertible, which at nearly 4.7 metres in length is longer than an Audi A5 Convertible and positions Vauxhall in a sector that it hasn't occupied since the 1930s. Cascada's design team, headed by Brit Mark Adams, has created a car with classic lines, redolent of the Grandes Routieres (luxury touring cars) of a bygone age, matched with a capacious cabin and high-quality materials.
